2011, the year that was ...

fabulous on many counts. Yet another year passes by and we are all brimmed with the positivity of welcoming a whole new year; time to start fresh, bring in more positivity to life, make new resolutions and break them too. 2011 was a year which will remain very close to my heart on many counts, because it was an year of travel.

I traveled to USA yet again on work and explored quite a lot. Some of the highlights of my travel last year:

Mackinaw Island: A beautiful island in Michigan where only bicycles and horse carts are allowed as a means of transportation. You need to park your car in the city and take a ferry to the island

Las Vegas: The sin city. Yes, indeed it is. Gambling, Shopping, elaborate buffets and some spectacular performances sums up the city.

Grand Canyon: As the name suggests, it is GRAND. One of the most beautiful things I have seen in my life.

Chicago: A beautiful city with wonderful architecture. Innumerable musuems, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, the list goes on.

Sandiego, CA: I absolutely loved SanDiego for its Balboa Park; it was breathtakingly beautiful with several art festivals happening during the time I was visiting. I liked SeaWorld too, a nice way to spend a day with Shamu, the killer whale (the main attraction there). I guess kids would love it because you can closely interact with several animals. I also happened to see one of the most beautiful sunsets at Point Loma.

NewYork: No matter how many times I visit NewYork, it will remain one of my favourite cities in the world. The Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Broadway Musicals, TimesSquare, MET, Chelsea Market, Empire State Building and awesome street food makes it one of my most loveable cities for me.

Mexico: A trip quite close to my heart. It was our first wedding anniversary trip and I got to experience Mexico in all its glory. One of the highlights was visiting one of the new seven wonders of the world - Chichen Itza, a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya civilization

Here is to more travel and much more joy in life. Hope you all have a fabulous 2012!! (even though I am bit late in wishing you :))

P.S: My sincere thanks to my hubby, my sister, friend M and some of the dear readers who repeatedly coaxed me into start writing again. Thanks a lot ! Yes, I will try my level best not to go into hibernation again :)
